Esta carrera de posgrado otorga el título de Especialista en Neuropsicología Clínica que tiene validez nacional. Es el primer posgrado en neuropsicología creado en Argentina (inició sus actividades en 1999) y también es el primer posgrado en neuropsicología acreditado y categorizado por CONEAU.
La carrera está orientada a la formación clínica. Su principal objetivo es la capacitación de profesionales para que, sobre la base de una formación teórica sólida y el manejo de principios y técnicas de evaluación y tratamiento, puedan llevar a cabo prácticas de diagnóstico y rehabilitación de pacientes –niños, adultos, adultos mayores– con alteraciones neuropsicológicas.
El enfoque clínico enfatiza el carácter interdisciplinario de la práctica neuropsicológica. Los marcos teóricos que se utilizan, sin descuidar los aportes de la neuropsicología clásica y de la escuela de Luria, se apoyan en las propuestas de la neuropsicología cognitiva, la neurociencia cognitiva y en los aportes de la psicometría.
